What an alarm can ring for
An alarm in LFG Alarm is made of two choices: what sets it off, and who it is for.
What sets it off is the alarm's type:
| Type | It rings when | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Time | A clock time comes, once or on chosen days | Weekdays at 7:00 |
| Event | An event you pasted from Luma or Partiful is about to start | An hour before the party |
| Post | An account on X posts something that means what you described, or a Twitch or YouTube channel goes live or posts a video | When @elonmusk mentions $GROK |
| Price | A token reaches a price, or moves by a percent or a multiple | When bitcoin drops 10% |
| Trades | A wallet you pasted, a FOMO trader, a GMGN KOL or a token sees a buy or sell over your floor | A Solana wallet buys more than $5,000 |
| Anything | Anything that can call a secret web address: a script, a bot, Zapier, IFTTT | When your server goes down |
Who it is for is its reach:
- Private: just you.
- Friends: people you add, or anyone you give the link to, depending on how you set it.
- Public: anyone with the link can join, and the alarm can appear in Discover.
How sharing works
Every alarm has a link like lfg.gm/a/<alarm-code>. Anyone you share it with taps the link and joins, which LFG Alarm calls riding the alarm. When it goes off, every phone that joined rings in the same second, each with the same sound and wallpaper. Riding someone else's alarm is free.
A shared time alarm rings everyone at the same moment by default (Same time zone for everyone), and each person sees the time in their own zone. For something like a morning club where everyone wakes at their own 6:00, it can ring each person at their own local time instead (Everyone's local time zone).
When it rings, everyone taps I'm up, and Rocco keeps a wake board: who got up first, who snoozed most, who slept in.
Any alarm can also carry a creator's note (where to meet, what to bring) and a call to action link that opens when people answer. Friends and public alarms have comments and hearts.
An example
Priya's run club meets at the park gate at 6:15 on Saturdays. She opens her group "Run club" in Settings > Friends > Groups, taps Create alarm with this group, and makes a repeating time alarm for 5:45 on Saturdays. The creator's note says "Gate by the cafe, bring water". At 5:45 six phones ring with the same drill sergeant voice; Tom snoozes twice, and the board says so.
What it sounds and looks like
Every alarm has its own sound and its own picture, chosen in the studio:
- Hundreds of songs, from Afrobeats and hip-hop to metal, Broadway and video game themes.
- Voices with attitude: Drill sergeant, Hype man, Toxic coach, The butler, Your bestie, Breaking news.
- Sirens, horns and drums for heavy sleepers.
- Your own photos and GIFs on the alarm screen, or Rocco's wallpapers.
- Songs and voiceovers Rocco cooks for one alarm.
How hard it rings
- Time and event alarms are real alarms on both phones. On Android they take over the screen even when the phone is locked; on iPhone they use Apple's own alarm system (AlarmKit), which rings through silent mode and Focus. They need no signal.
- Post, price, trades and anything alarms need a connection, because the server notices the moment and tells your phone. On Android they ring full screen, even on Do Not Disturb. On iPhone they arrive as a time-sensitive alert with the alarm's own sound, which can come through Focus but respects the silent switch, so keep the ringer on.
- A laptop rings only while an lfg.gm tab is open and the laptop is awake and online, for up to ten minutes. Phone browsers never ring. See Alarms on your laptop.
Who uses it
- Friends getting each other up for a run, a flight, an exam or a party.
- Group chats rallying for a drop, a stream or a launch.
- Fans waiting on a post, a stream or a release.
- People who watch prices and wallets and do not want to stare at charts all night.
- Developers who want their own code to be able to wake them.
Where to get it
LFG Alarm is on Google Play for Android and on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, and on the web at lfg.gm. You sign in with Apple, Google or an email code. Start with Your first alarm.
You can also use it from your AI agent, such as Claude or ChatGPT, by connecting the LFG Alarm MCP server. Today an AI agent can set, list, change and delete time alarms; see Using LFG Alarm from your AI agent.
Have your AI agent make it.
Paste this into ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or any AI agent that can add a connector, not into the LFG Alarm app. The setup steps come with it: get the LFG Alarm app, connect it to your agent once, and your agent makes the alarm in your account.
Use LFG Alarm to set an alarm for 7:00 on weekdays called "Up and at it", with UP AND AT IT written on the wallpaper, and give me the link so my friend can join it.
Already have the LFG Alarm app and connected it to your AI agent?
Why it works. It names the time, the days, the name and the wallpaper, and asks for the link back, which is everything a time alarm needs.
