What LFG Alarm rings for, and what it does not
| You name | It rings when | Set it with |
|---|---|---|
| A token, by contract address | It reaches your price, drops by a percent, or does a multiple from now | A price alarm |
| A FOMO trader, by @handle | They buy over your floor, sell anything, or post a thesis | A trades alarm |
| A GMGN KOL, by @handle | They buy or sell over your floor | A trades alarm |
| A wallet address | It buys or sells over your floor | A trades alarm |
| An X account, such as a project's or a dev's | It posts something that means what you wrote, for example a contract address | A post alarm |
What it does not do: scan every new launch, rank tokens, score rugs or tell you what to buy. If you want a feed of every new pair, that is a job for a screener or a launch tracker. LFG Alarm is for the moment after you have picked something, when you need to stop staring at it.
Paste a contract address for a price alarm
A contract address is the most exact way to name a memecoin, because tickers repeat. Several tokens can share a name; only one has your address.
- On Alarms, tap 馃搱 Onchain.
- Under Search, paste the contract address and tap Find it. If several coins come up, pick the one with your address.
- Under The move, tap a multiple (2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 100x, 1000x), a drop (-5%, -10%, -20%, -50%, or nuke for -99%), or type a price under Or a specific price.
- Choose who it is for and tap Arm it.
Three rules decide what you get:
- Multiples and percents are measured from the live price when you arm it, not from your entry. If you bought at $0.0002 and it is already at $0.0003, a -50% alarm rings at $0.00015, below your entry.
- A specific price means "when it goes above". For "if it falls under", use a percent drop.
- One move per alarm. For a target and a floor on the same bag, make two alarms: say 5x and -50%.
Thinking in market cap
The trenches talk in market cap, not price, and the price field shows both, right now. As long as the token's supply stays the same, they move together, so the maths is a ratio. A token at a $250k market cap and a price of $0.00025 reaches $1M when the price is four times higher: type $0.001. A target that matches a chip (2x, 3x, 5x, 10x) needs no maths at all.
Follow a FOMO trader or a GMGN KOL by handle
Most people do not want every trader's every trade. They want the two or three people whose moves would get them out of bed.
On 馃搱 Onchain, type the @handle. A FOMO trader is found first, then a GMGN KOL. Or tap Show me the top traders to browse the top 100 on FOMO this week and the KOLs trading now on GMGN. Check the card, pick Buys, Sells or, for a FOMO trader, Thesis, then pick the floor.
Paste a wallet
Paste any public wallet address and Rocco asks whether to ring when it buys or sells. Wallets on Solana, Ethereum, Base, BNB, Arbitrum and Robinhood Chain can be watched. Nothing is connected and nothing is signed: Rocco reads public trades only.
The floors
| Watching | Floors | Default |
|---|---|---|
| A wallet you pasted | Over $1k, $2k, $5k or $10k, buys or sells | $5k |
| A FOMO trader | Buys over $5k, $10k or $25k; sells always ring | $10k |
| A GMGN KOL | Over $100, $500 or $1k, buys or sells | $500 |
After a trades alarm rings, it stays quiet for 15 minutes, so a trader splitting one exit into six sells is one ring, not six.
New token launches: what you can and cannot catch
LFG Alarm does not ring when a token is created. There is no "every new Solana launch" alarm, on purpose: it would be the same firehose you are trying to get away from.
What it can catch is the launch you are waiting for:
- The contract address being posted. If a project or a dev you follow will post the CA on X, set a post alarm on that account and tap the When the CA drops example under What should wake you?. Rocco reads each post for what it means, not for a keyword. When it rings, you have the address for a price alarm.
- A trader you follow buying something. A trades alarm on a KOL rings when they buy over your floor, whatever the token.
- A big trade on the tape. Discover has a live strip of big trades by well-known traders; tap one to make an alarm on that trader or token.
Three nights in the trenches
The bag you want to sleep on. It is 1:40am. Noor bought a Solana memecoin at about a $300k market cap and has watched the chart for two hours. She pastes the contract address and arms two alarms: 3x, and -50%. She picks a calm chime for the target and a siren for the drop, puts the laptop away and goes to bed. Neither rings. She checks the chart over breakfast instead of all night.
The dev wallet. Kai is in a token whose deployer wallet still holds a chunk of the supply. He pastes that wallet, picks Sells over $1k, the lowest floor, and shares it with the four friends who are in it with him, as a friends alarm. On Saturday afternoon all five phones ring at once. What they do next is up to each of them, but nobody hears about it from a screenshot an hour later.
The KOL you trust. Ellie follows one GMGN KOL who usually buys in $200 clips. She sets Buys over $500 so the test clips stay quiet and only a buy bigger than usual rings. It rings twice in a week. Both times she looks at the token herself before doing anything.
Bring the group chat
Every trench chat has the friend who sees everything first and the friends who hear about it late. Share the alarm and everyone who joined is rung at the same moment.
- A price alarm, a FOMO trader alarm or a GMGN KOL alarm can be private, friends or public. Public alarms can be found and ridden from Discover.
- A pasted wallet can only be private or shared with friends, never public, because a public "watch this wallet" would expose someone's holdings.
- For a friends alarm, choose Anyone with the link rides and drop the
lfg.gm/a/<alarm-code>link in the chat, or I approve each one.
Riding someone else's alarm is free, and the app is free to download. See group alarms.
How it rings
- Android: a full-screen alarm, even on Do Not Disturb.
- iPhone: a time-sensitive alert with the alarm's own sound, which can come through Focus but respects the silent switch, so keep the ringer on.
- A laptop: rings while an lfg.gm tab is open and the laptop is awake and online, for up to ten minutes; answer on either and the other stops. Phone browsers never ring. See crypto alarms on your phone and laptop.
Make it in the app
A price alarm on a contract address:
- On Alarms, tap 馃搱 Onchain.
- Paste the contract address under Search and tap Find it.
- Pick a multiple, a drop, or type a price.
- Choose who it is for and tap Arm it.
A trader, KOL or wallet alarm:
- On Alarms, tap 馃搱 Onchain.
- Type the @handle, paste the wallet, or tap Show me the top traders.
- Pick Buys, Sells or Thesis, then the floor, and tap Next.
- Check that Rocco's summary is right, choose who it is for, and tap That's it.
A post alarm for a contract address:
- On Alarms, tap 馃憖 Social, pick X and type the account's handle.
- Tap When the CA drops, or write your own rule.
- Choose who it is for and tap That's it.
Common mistakes
- Expecting an alert for every launch. LFG Alarm rings for what you name.
- Searching by ticker. Paste the contract address so you get the right token.
- Setting -50% after the price has already moved, and expecting it to mean -50% from your entry. It is measured from the moment you arm it.
- Following ten traders at once. Pick the few you would actually get up for.
- Leaving an iPhone on silent overnight. Price and trades alarms respect the silent switch there.
