Connect LFG Alarm to Cursor

To connect LFG Alarm to Cursor, add https://mcp.lfg.gm to Cursor's mcp.json, turn it on under Customize > MCPs, and sign in with your LFG Alarm account. Then ask Cursor's agent for an alarm without leaving the editor ("ring me in 40 minutes, when this migration should be done"), and it rings on your phone. LFG Alarm is a social alarm clock for iPhone and Android.

Also called: Cursor MCP · Cursor mcp.json · Cursor alarm

Get it on Google PlayDownload on the App Store

Before you start

  • Get the LFG Alarm app on your phone from Google Play or the App Store, and sign in. Your AI agent makes the alarms; the app is what rings them.
  • Have your LFG Alarm sign-in handy. You will sign in once, on lfg.gm, to let Cursor use your account.

Connect it

  1. Open ~/.cursor/mcp.json (for every project) or .cursor/mcp.json (for one project). Create it if it is not there.
  2. Add LFG Alarm:
{ "mcpServers": { "lfg-alarm": { "url": "https://mcp.lfg.gm" } } }
  1. Save and restart Cursor.
  2. Open Customize > MCPs, turn on lfg-alarm, and sign in on lfg.gm with your LFG Alarm account when it asks. Tap Allow.

These steps follow Cursor's own help pages. Menus move; if a label is different, look for where Cursor lets you add a custom MCP server or connector.

Use it in a chat

Ask the agent in chat. Cursor asks before it uses each LFG Alarm action unless you allow it.

Developers use it for the waits around code: a long test suite, a deploy, a data backfill. Ask for a one-off alarm when the job should be done, so you can step away from the desk and your phone tells you when to come back. For an alarm that rings when your script actually finishes, rather than at a guessed time, ask Cursor to make an anything alarm: it hands back a private web address, and one curl line at the end of the script calls it.

Try it

Once it is connected, ask in plain words:

try this

Have your AI agent make it.

Paste this into ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or any AI agent that can add a connector, not into the LFG Alarm app. The setup steps come with it: get the LFG Alarm app, connect it to your agent once, and your agent makes the alarm in your account.

Use LFG Alarm to set a one-off alarm for 40 minutes from now called "Check the migration". Then tell me exactly when it goes off.

Already have the LFG Alarm app and connected it to your AI agent?

Why it works. A one-off from now, which is how a wait in the editor works, and the agent tells you the exact time.

More ideas: "Wake me at 7:00 every weekday and call it Standup", "Make a friends alarm for this Friday at 4:00pm called Release and add my friends [username] and [username]", or "List my alarms". Today your AI agent can set time alarms, price alarms (a target price or a percent move), post alarms (an X account posting what you describe, or a Twitch or YouTube channel going live), event alarms from a Luma or Partiful link, and anything alarms (a private link any system can ring); list, change, turn on or off and delete them; add your friends or a whole group; pick a sound or look from the library; and add your own picture, song or voice. Wallet and trader alarms are made in the app. Each alarm it makes comes back with its link, a share picture with a QR code and a message ready to send. See Using LFG Alarm from your AI agent for everything it can do.

If it does not work

  • It never asks you to sign in. Check the address is exactly https://mcp.lfg.gm and restart Cursor.
  • Cloud agents. For Cursor's cloud agents, a team admin adds the server under Dashboard > Plugins & MCPs.
  • Still stuck? Remove the connector and add it again, or write to us from the support page.

Disconnect

Remove the LFG Alarm connector in Cursor's settings. Your alarms stay in your LFG Alarm account and keep ringing.

questions people ask
Why use an alarm app from a code editor?

So your phone rings out loud when a long job should be done, and you can walk away from the screen instead of watching a progress bar. A notification is easy to miss when you are away from the desk; an alarm is not.

Can my code ring the alarm itself?

Yes, with an anything alarm, made in the app or by asking Cursor: it gives you a private web address, and a `curl -X POST` to it rings your phone. See [How to make any app, script or feed ring your phone](/webhook-alarm).

Do I add it per project?

Either. `~/.cursor/mcp.json` adds it for every project; `.cursor/mcp.json` for one.

Does LFG Alarm see my other chats?

No. LFG Alarm only receives what Cursor sends when it uses LFG Alarm's tools.
