Before you start
- Get the LFG Alarm app on your phone from Google Play or the App Store, and sign in. Your AI agent makes the alarms; the app is what rings them.
- Have your LFG Alarm sign-in handy. You will sign in once, on lfg.gm, to let VS Code use your account.
Connect it
- Open the Command Palette and run MCP: Add Server.
- Choose HTTP and paste
https://mcp.lfg.gm. - Name it
lfg-alarmand choose User (every workspace) or Workspace. - Start the server when VS Code offers. A browser opens on lfg.gm: sign in with your LFG Alarm account and tap Allow.
Or add it to .vscode/mcp.json yourself:
{ "servers": { "lfg-alarm": { "type": "http", "url": "https://mcp.lfg.gm" } } }
These steps follow VS Code's own help pages. Menus move; if a label is different, look for where VS Code lets you add a custom MCP server or connector.
Use it in a chat
Use Copilot Chat in agent mode and ask. VS Code asks before each tool runs unless you allow it.
It is for the moments you would otherwise watch a terminal: a CI run, a container build, a long test suite. Ask for a one-off alarm when it should be done and step away. If the team is waiting on the same release, make it a friends alarm and add them, so everyone's phone rings at once.
Try it
Once it is connected, ask in plain words:
Have your AI agent make it.
Paste this into ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or any AI agent that can add a connector, not into the LFG Alarm app. The setup steps come with it: get the LFG Alarm app, connect it to your agent once, and your agent makes the alarm in your account.
Use LFG Alarm to set a one-off alarm for 25 minutes from now called "CI should be green". Then tell me exactly when it goes off.
Already have the LFG Alarm app and connected it to your AI agent?
Why it works. A one-off from now for a wait in the editor, and the agent tells you the exact time.
More ideas: "Wake me at 7:00 every weekday and call it Standup", "Make a friends alarm for this Friday at 4:00pm called Release and add my friends [username] and [username]", or "List my alarms". Today your AI agent can set time alarms, price alarms (a target price or a percent move), post alarms (an X account posting what you describe, or a Twitch or YouTube channel going live), event alarms from a Luma or Partiful link, and anything alarms (a private link any system can ring); list, change, turn on or off and delete them; add your friends or a whole group; pick a sound or look from the library; and add your own picture, song or voice. Wallet and trader alarms are made in the app. Each alarm it makes comes back with its link, a share picture with a QR code and a message ready to send. See Using LFG Alarm from your AI agent for everything it can do.
If it does not work
- MCP servers are greyed out. On Copilot Business or Enterprise, an organisation admin has to turn on the policy MCP servers in Copilot. It is off by default.
- Old VS Code. MCP needs VS Code 1.99 or later.
- Still stuck? Remove the connector and add it again, or write to us from the support page.
Disconnect
Remove the LFG Alarm connector in VS Code's settings. Your alarms stay in your LFG Alarm account and keep ringing.
