Before you start
- Get the LFG Alarm app on your phone from Google Play or the App Store, and sign in. Your AI agent makes the alarms; the app is what rings them.
- Have your LFG Alarm sign-in handy. You will sign in once, on lfg.gm, to let Hermes Agent use your account.
Connect it
- In a terminal on the machine where Hermes runs:
hermes mcp add --url https://mcp.lfg.gm --auth oauth lfg
- A browser opens on lfg.gm: sign in with your LFG Alarm account and tap Allow. On a machine with no browser, run
hermes mcp login lfg --flow deviceand follow the code it shows. - Check it:
hermes mcp test lfg. - In a running chat, type
/reload-mcp. A running gateway picks it up on its own within about a minute.
Prefer the config file? Add this to ~/.hermes/config.yaml:
mcp_servers:
lfg:
url: "https://mcp.lfg.gm"
auth: oauth
These steps follow Hermes Agent's own help pages. Menus move; if a label is different, look for where Hermes Agent lets you add a custom MCP server or connector.
Use it in a chat
Ask from wherever you talk to Hermes: the terminal, Hermes Desktop, Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord or the others. The alarm rings on your phone through the LFG Alarm app, not as a chat message.
People who run Hermes on a server often use it for jobs that finish at odd hours. Ask it to set a one-off alarm for when a run should be done, or a repeating weekday alarm, from the same Discord or Telegram chat you already use to talk to it. A chat message at 3am is easy to sleep through; an alarm is not.
Try it
Once it is connected, ask in plain words:
Have your AI agent make it.
Paste this into ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or any AI agent that can add a connector, not into the LFG Alarm app. The setup steps come with it: get the LFG Alarm app, connect it to your agent once, and your agent makes the alarm in your account.
Use LFG Alarm to set a one-off alarm for 2:30am tonight called "Check the run", just for me. Then tell me when it goes off.
Already have the LFG Alarm app and connected it to your AI agent?
Why it works. A one-off at an odd hour, just for you, and it tells you the time back, which is what you want before you go to sleep on a long job.
More ideas: "Wake me at 7:00 every weekday and call it Get up", "Make a friends alarm for this Saturday at 9am called Golf and add my friends [username] and [username]", or "List my alarms". Today your AI agent can set time alarms, price alarms (a target price or a percent move), post alarms (an X account posting what you describe, or a Twitch or YouTube channel going live), event alarms from a Luma or Partiful link, and anything alarms (a private link any system can ring); list, change, turn on or off and delete them; add your friends or a whole group; pick a sound or look from the library; and add your own picture, song or voice. Wallet and trader alarms are made in the app. Each alarm it makes comes back with its link, a share picture with a QR code and a message ready to send. See Using LFG Alarm from your AI agent for everything it can do.
If it does not work
- Hermes says it has no LFG tools. Run
/reload-mcp, or restart the gateway. - Sign-in fails on a server. Use the device flow:
hermes mcp login lfg --flow device. - Still stuck? Remove the connector and add it again, or write to us from the support page.
Disconnect
Remove the LFG Alarm connector in Hermes Agent's settings. Your alarms stay in your LFG Alarm account and keep ringing.
