The group chat at midnight
You and your friends have been waiting on the same release for weeks. When it finally drops, one of you sees it, posts the link, and the rest wake up to a chat that's already moved on.
Music is better when you hear it with your people. A shared drop alarm puts everyone in the same second: phones ring, the track plays, and the chat goes off while it's still new to all of you.
How to share a drop alarm
- Make the drop alarm. Tell Rocco "ring me when Kaytranada drops on SoundCloud", or paste the artist's SoundCloud link, then pick the right artist from the ones he finds. The full steps are in how to get an alarm when an artist drops new music on SoundCloud.
- Choose who it's for: friends or public.
- Send the link to the group chat. It looks like
lfg.gm/a/<alarm-code>. Friends tap it and join, which LFG Alarm calls riding.
That's one link for everyone. When the track goes live, every rider rings at once.
Friends or public
| Pick | Who can join | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Friends | The people you send the link to, or only the ones you approve, and it never shows in Discover | Your crew, a group chat, a few people who'd go to the show with you |
| Public | Anyone with the link, and it can be found in Discover | A fan community, a Discord server, a big group of strangers who love the same artist |
If the artist already has a public drop alarm of their own, you can all just join that one. See for artists: ring every fan the moment your SoundCloud track drops.
Everyone picks how loud
Riding together doesn't mean everyone has to be woken at 3am. Each rider picks for themselves:
- Horn on: their phone rings.
- Notify: a quiet notification.
- Quiet: nothing goes off, and the drop waits in their Daily drop, the tab the app opens on.
The friend who works early can go quiet. The one who'll be up anyway can leave the horn on.
When it drops
- Everyone rings together, with LFG's own sound, the moment the track goes live.
- The track is one tap away. Play the drop plays it right in the app, credited to the artist and linked to SoundCloud.
- Nobody misses out. Anyone who slept through it can play it from the Daily drop.
The alarm also shows how many people are riding, so you can see how many are waiting with you.
Ask your AI to set it up
If you use an AI app such as Claude or ChatGPT with the LFG Alarm connector, it can make the alarm and give you the link for the chat.
Have your AI agent make it.
Paste this into ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or any AI agent that can add a connector, not into the LFG Alarm app. The setup steps come with it: get the LFG Alarm app, connect it to your agent once, and your agent makes the alarm in your account.
Make a friends SoundCloud drop alarm for Kaytranada. My friends and I want to hear his next track together the second it's out, so give me the link to send to our group chat.
Already have the LFG Alarm app and connected it to your AI agent?
Why it works. It names the artist, says the alarm is for friends and asks for the link, which is what the group needs. Connect LFG Alarm to your AI app first: see [AI agents](/agents).
Common mistakes
- Making it just for you. A private alarm can't be joined. Pick friends or public before you send the link.
- Sending the link after the drop. People can only ring if they joined before the track went live.
- Making three alarms for the same artist. One shared alarm puts everyone in the same moment. Separate alarms mean separate chats.
