Release day, felt all at once
You've told your fans it's coming. Some of them will see the post. Most will catch it days later, if the feed shows it to them at all, and the first hour, when a release has the most energy, goes by quietly.
A drop alarm turns your release into a moment your fans share. Everyone who signed up rings at the same second, hears it together, and the group chats light up while it's still new. It's the closest thing to a listening party that happens on every fan's phone at once.
Set it up
- Ask Rocco for a drop alarm on your profile, or paste your SoundCloud profile link.
- Pick your profile from the artists Rocco shows you. Nothing is made until you choose.
- Choose what counts. Any new track, or only an album or EP if you're building up to a bigger release. You can narrow it in your own words too, for example "only the remix".
- Make it public, so anyone with the link can join.
- Write your Keeper's note (more on that below) and copy the alarm's link. It looks like
lfg.gm/a/<alarm-code>.
Where to put the link
Think of the link as a "ring me when it drops" sign-up. Fans tap it, join in the LFG Alarm app, and wait with you.
- Your bio, on SoundCloud, Instagram, TikTok and X, so new fans find it any time.
- Stories and a pinned post, when you announce the release.
- Your Discord, newsletter or fan chat, where your closest fans already are.
Say why in the same breath. "Tap this and your phone rings the second the track is out" gets more taps than a bare link.
Your words on every fan's alarm
The Keeper's note is a message you, the person who made the alarm, pin on it. It shows under the trigger, the line that says what the alarm is waiting for, so every fan who opens the alarm reads it. Use it the way you'd use a caption:
- "Two years on this one. Turn it up. Thank you for waiting."
- "Out at midnight. Headphones on, lights off."
- "The remix is for the people who were at the last show."
What your fans get
- Their choice of how loud. Each fan picks Horn on (their phone rings), Notify (a quiet notification) or Quiet (nothing goes off, and it waits in their Daily drop).
- Your track, credited. The ring screen shows your cover, and Play the drop plays the track right in the app, credited to you and linked to your track on SoundCloud.
- A second chance. Anyone who slept through it can play it from the Daily drop, the tab the app opens on.
The alarm also shows how many fans are riding, which means how many have joined and are waiting. It's a live count you can screenshot and post as release day gets closer.
How it fits your release
- Upload as you always do. The alarm rings when the track is public on your profile, whether you upload it that minute or make a private track public.
- It's yours, but fans can make their own. Anyone can set a drop alarm on any artist. Yours is the one with your note on it, so post it before fans go looking.
- It costs no credits. It doesn't count against your plan, the same as an alarm for a YouTube channel.
Ask your AI to set it up
If you use an AI app such as Claude or ChatGPT with the LFG Alarm connector, it can make the alarm and hand you the link.
Have your AI agent make it.
Paste this into ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or any AI agent that can add a connector, not into the LFG Alarm app. The setup steps come with it: get the LFG Alarm app, connect it to your agent once, and your agent makes the alarm in your account.
Make me a public SoundCloud drop alarm on my own profile, [your SoundCloud link], so my fans' phones ring the moment my next track is out. Give me the link to put in my bio.
Already have the LFG Alarm app and connected it to your AI agent?
Why it works. It names your profile, says who it's for and asks for the link back, which is the one thing you need to share. Connect LFG Alarm to your AI app first: see [AI agents](/agents).
Common mistakes
- Keeping it friends-only. A friends alarm is for people you know and never shows in Discover, where public alarms can be found. For fans, make it public.
- Posting the link on release day. Give fans days to join. The alarm can only ring phones that joined.
- Leaving the note empty. The note is the only part of the alarm in your own words. Use it.
