Event reminder texts you can copy

You know you should send a reminder, but you don't want to sound like a dentist's office. Here are event reminder texts you can copy, for every moment from a week out to doors, plus the one thing a text can't do.

Also called: event reminder text · event reminder message · reminder text for guests · how to remind someone about an event · party reminder message

A text gets read when someone gets around to it. If it really matters that they're there on time, add an LFG Alarm link: guests tap it once, and a real alarm rings on their phone before your event.

Swap the parts in [brackets], and keep each one short.

A week before: ask them to confirm

Casual:

Hey! [Event] is next [day] at [time]. Still in? Tell me so I know how much food to get.

More formal:

Hi [name], a quick reminder that [event] is on [date] at [time]. Please confirm you can still make it by [day].

Ticketed:

[Event] is one week away! Your ticket's in your email. Doors at [time], [venue].

The day before: the details

House party:

Tomorrow! [Time] at [address]. Park on [street]. Bring [thing] if you can.

Dinner:

See you tomorrow at [time], [restaurant]. Table's under [name]. Let me know today if anything's changed.

Work event:

Reminder: [event] is tomorrow at [time] in [place]. [One thing to prepare].

The day of: the last nudge

Short and friendly:

Today's the day! [Time] at [place]. See you there.

Club or VIP list:

Tonight. Doors at [time], list closes at [time]. Name at the door: [name].

Running late:

We're starting at [time] sharp. If you're on your way, you're good.

Add the alarm to any of these

Put this line at the end of any reminder above:

Tap this so your phone rings before it starts: lfg.gm/a/xxxxxxxx

To get your own link, make the alarm first. Here's how to set it up. It takes about a minute from your event's page.

Texting from Posh? Its blasts are capped at 160 characters, so use the short versions.

Let your AI write it

try this

Have your AI agent make it.

Paste this into ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or any AI agent that can add a connector, not into the LFG Alarm app. The setup steps come with it: get the LFG Alarm app, connect it to your agent once, and your agent makes the alarm in your account.

Write three short reminder texts for [event] on [date] at [place]: one for a week before, one for the day before and one for the day of. Then use LFG Alarm to set an alarm that rings 2 hours before, and add its link to the last one.

Already have the LFG Alarm app and connected it to your AI agent?

Why it works. You get all three messages and a working alarm link. Connect LFG Alarm to your AI app first: see [AI agents](/agents).

What makes a reminder work

  • One job per message. Confirm, give details, or nudge. Not all three.
  • The time and the place, every time. That's what people scroll back for.
  • A reason to care. "The first set starts at 9" beats "don't forget".
  • Keep it human. Write it the way you'd text a friend.

questions people ask
What do you say in an event reminder?

The event, the time, the place, and one thing they need to do. If you're asking them to confirm, say by when.

How do you politely remind someone about an event?

Make it about the plan, not about them. "Getting the food order in, still coming?" is friendlier than "please remember".

When should I send an event reminder?

About a week before, then a day or two before, then on the day. Here's why that works.

Is a text or an alarm better?

Use both. A text carries the details, and an alarm makes sure they look up at the right moment.
