Editing and deleting alarms

In LFG Alarm, you can change anything about your alarm until a second person joins it. From that moment it is sealed: the time, the trigger, the title, the sound, the snooze and the picture stay as they were, because the people riding it agreed to that alarm. You can still turn it on or off, write the creator's note, or take it down.

Before anyone joins

Open the alarm from Alarms and change whatever you like: the time (Change the time), what sets it off, the title, the sound, the wallpaper, the link's name. Tap Save changes.

After someone joins: sealed

A sealed alarm shows Sealed and a lock on the rows that cannot change. What you can still do:

  • Turn it off or back on.
  • Edit the creator's note, the message you pin on the alarm.
  • Take it down with Delete it.

To change anything else, make a new alarm and share the new link.

One exception: a one-off alarm whose moment has passed can be edited even when sealed, so you can rerun it for the same people. Last Friday's "Pub quiz, 7:30pm" can become this Friday's, and everyone who rode it is still on it.

On an anything alarm, New URL (a fresh secret link) is sealed too, because it would change who can set the alarm off.

Reach locks sooner

Who an alarm is for locks the moment you share it, even before anyone joins: it cannot go back to private or switch between friends and public. See Sharing and reach.

Taking an alarm down

When you delete an alarm, it disappears for you at once and stops ringing. For everyone riding it, it stays in their list marked as taken down, and they can Keep my copy as a private alarm or Let it go. An anything alarm's link stops working the moment it is deleted (it answers "not found"), and riders lose it instead of keeping a copy.

Leaving an alarm you ride

On someone else's alarm, you cannot edit it. You can turn it off for yourself, or remove it with Stop waking me. See Riding an alarm.

questions people ask
Why can't I change the time after people joined?

Because they joined for that time. Nobody should be woken for something they did not sign up for.

Can I change who an alarm is shared with?

Reach locks as soon as an alarm is shared. See [Sharing and reach](/wiki/sharing-and-reach).
