How to send an alarm to someone else's phone

To send an alarm to someone else's phone, make the alarm in LFG Alarm and share its link with them, or add them by username or email. When they tap and join, their phone rings with yours at the moment you set, with the sound and picture you picked. LFG Alarm is a social alarm clock for iPhone and Android, and it works for one person or a whole group.

Why you cannot just set an alarm on their phone

Phones do not let one person set an alarm on another person's phone, for good reason: nobody wants a stranger's 4am alarm. The way around it is consent. They join your alarm once, and from then on it rings them, every time it goes off. If it is a repeating alarm, that one tap covers every Monday from now on.

How to do it

  1. Make the alarm in LFG Alarm: a time, an event from a Partiful or Luma link, or a moment like a post or a price.
  2. Share it with Make it social on: pick the friend by username, type their email, or choose Anyone with the link rides. See Sharing and reach.
  3. Send them the link, lfg.gm/a/<alarm-code>, by text, WhatsApp, iMessage or anywhere. People you add yourself get a notification and can tap it instead.
  4. They tap it and join. Now it rings on both phones, in the same second. See Riding an alarm.

Who people actually send alarms to

The friend with the 6am flight. Leah is flying to Lisbon at 8:05 and has slept through a flight before. Her friend Tariq makes a one-off alarm for 5:15 called "Lisbon, leave by 5:45" with a siren and the Drill sergeant voice, and sends her the link the night before. At 5:15 both phones ring. At 5:17 Tariq checks the wake board: she tapped I'm up in eight seconds. He goes back to sleep.

The partner who needs to leave work on time. Not a wake-up at all: a one-off alarm at 2:50 called "Pickup, gate at 3:10" that rings in the middle of a meeting. See a heads-up your partner can't miss.

Forty guests. A host does not want to call 40 people on the night. One alarm, one link in the invite, and everyone who joined is rung two hours before. See how to get people to show up to events.

A better way than calling everyone

Calling takes time, a surprise call at 5am is alarming in the wrong way, and a missed call is just a red badge. An alarm they joined is expected, rings even when chats are muted, and can be fun: a hype video, a song, Rocco roasting a snooze.

How loud it is on their phone

Time and event alarms are real alarms on both phones: on iPhone they use Apple's own alarm system and ring through silent mode and Focus; on Android they take over the screen even when the phone is locked. Alarms for moments (a post, a price, a wallet, a webhook) ring full screen on Android, even on Do Not Disturb; on iPhone they arrive as a time-sensitive alert with the alarm's own sound, which respects the silent switch, so the person needs the ringer on.

Wake a friend who sleeps through calls

Pick a loud sound or a shouting voice, and the wake board shows whether they got up. Their chaos level, from mild to feral, is their own setting: it decides how hard Rocco roasts their snooze. Snooze is personal too: each person sets theirs for 5, 10, 15, 30 or 60 minutes, 3 times, 10 times or forever, and the board counts every one. See the alarm for heavy sleepers.

try this

Have your AI agent make it.

Paste this into ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or any AI agent that can add a connector, not into the LFG Alarm app. The setup steps come with it: get the LFG Alarm app, connect it to your agent once, and your agent makes the alarm in your account.

Use LFG Alarm to set a one-off alarm for 5:15am tomorrow called "Lisbon, leave by 5:45", make it a friends alarm, add my friend [their LFG Alarm username], and give me the link to text them.

Already have the LFG Alarm app and connected it to your AI agent?

Why it works. One sentence, and once your friend taps the link to join, their phone rings with yours.

Common mistakes

  • Sending the link at 4am. They need to join before it rings. Send it the evening before.
  • Choosing the sound after they join. Once a second person rides it, the sound and picture are sealed. Pick them first.
  • Expecting it to work in a phone browser. Phone browsers do not ring. They need the app.
