Before you start
- Get the LFG Alarm app on your phone from Google Play or the App Store, and sign in. Your AI agent makes the alarms; the app is what rings them.
- Have your LFG Alarm sign-in handy. You will sign in once, on lfg.gm, to let Zed use your account.
Connect it
- Open Zed's settings, go to AI > MCP Servers (or run the
agent: open settingsaction and choose MCP Servers). - Click Add Server, then Add Remote Server, and paste
https://mcp.lfg.gm. Name itlfg-alarm. - Zed prompts you to sign in. A browser opens on lfg.gm: sign in with your LFG Alarm account and tap Allow.
Or add it to your settings file yourself (zed: open settings file). Leave out any Authorization header, so Zed uses the sign-in:
{ "context_servers": { "lfg-alarm": { "url": "https://mcp.lfg.gm" } } }
These steps follow Zed's own docs. Menus move; if a label differs, look for MCP servers in Zed's AI settings.
Use it in the agent panel
Ask in the agent panel. Zed's agent reaches for LFG Alarm when you mention an alarm.
It fits the waits in a coding day: a release build, a long test run, a database restore. Sam asks for a one-off alarm when a Rust release build should be done and goes to make lunch. Maya's team waits on the same deploy, so she makes it a friends alarm and adds two teammates; every phone rings at once. For a ring when the job actually ends rather than at a guessed time, ask for an anything alarm: the agent hands back a private link and a curl -X POST to it as the last step rings you. See How to make any app, script or feed ring your phone.
Try it
Have your AI agent make it.
Paste this into ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or any AI agent that can add a connector, not into the LFG Alarm app. The setup steps come with it: get the LFG Alarm app, connect it to your agent once, and your agent makes the alarm in your account.
Use LFG Alarm to set a one-off time alarm for 20 minutes from now called "Tests should be done". Then tell me the date and time it will ring.
Already have the LFG Alarm app and connected it to your AI agent?
Why it works. A one-off from now for a wait in the editor, and the agent tells you the exact time.
More ideas: "Wake me at 7:00 every weekday and call it Standup", "Make a friends alarm for Friday at 4:00pm called Release and add my friends [username] and [username]", or "List my alarms". The agent can set time, price, post, event, wallet, trader and anything alarms, change or delete them, and add friends once you confirm. See Using LFG Alarm from your AI agent.
If it does not work
- Zed never asks you to sign in. Check the entry has only
url, exactlyhttps://mcp.lfg.gm, with noheaders. - You would rather use a key. In LFG Alarm, open Settings > Connected AI apps > Make a key, then add
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer lfg_pat_..." }to the entry. A key acts as you; keep it out of settings you share or commit. - Still stuck? Write to us from the support page.
Disconnect
Remove the lfg-alarm entry from Zed's MCP servers. Your alarms stay in your LFG Alarm account and keep ringing.
