How LFG Alarm adds to Luma

Luma handles event pages, registration and check-in, and sends guests reminders a day and an hour before. LFG Alarm adds a real alarm at the moment you choose: paste your Luma link into LFG Alarm, share one alarm link with your attendees, and everyone who joins is rung before doors, with a button to the event. LFG Alarm is not affiliated with Luma; this is how the two work together.

What Luma already does

As of October 2026, Luma's help pages say:

  • Guests get reminders 1 day and 1 hour before the event, by email, SMS and push, depending on their settings.
  • The 1-day reminder is skipped for events made less than a day ahead.
  • Guests who are pending approval or on the waitlist do not get reminders.
  • Hosts cannot edit the reminders, but can turn them off.

What LFG Alarm adds

  • A moment you choose. Two hours before for an in-person event, so people leave in time; at the start for an online one, so everyone joins at once.
  • An alarm, not another notification. An event alarm is a real alarm on both phones: on iPhone it rings through silent mode and Focus, and on Android it takes over the screen even when the phone is locked.
  • A real headcount. The number of people riding the alarm is the number who mean it.
  • A note for attendees: the creator's note says which entrance, what to bring, where the speakers are, and the call-to-action link opens the event page or a map when people answer.
  • For your crew: with Luma webhooks (a Luma Plus feature), an event update or cancellation can be sent, through Zapier, to an LFG Alarm anything alarm that rings your team. On Android it rings full screen, even on Do Not Disturb; on iPhone it arrives as a time-sensitive alert with the alarm's own sound, so keep the ringer on.

Three events on Luma

The free founders' breakfast. Nina runs a 60-person breakfast at 8:00 on a Tuesday. Luma reminds guests the day before and an hour before, at 7:00, which is when half of them are still asleep. She makes an LFG Alarm event alarm from her Luma link that rings 2 hr before, at 6:00, so it doubles as the wake-up. The creator's note says "coffee from 7:45, ground floor, bring a laptop". The number riding the alarm is how many pastries she orders.

The evening talk with a tricky entrance. Every month people walk round the building twice looking for the door. Ade sets the alarm for 1 hr before and names the problem in the note: "side entrance on Elm Street, not the main doors". The call-to-action link opens a map pin.

The online workshop. For a webinar at 18:00 UTC with guests in eight countries, the alarm rings At start, in each person's own time zone at the same moment, and the call-to-action link opens the stream.

How to use them together

  1. Publish your event on Luma.
  2. In LFG Alarm, tap Got a link? and paste the Luma link. Rocco reads the name, the picture and the start time.
  3. Under Goes off, pick At start, 30 min, 1 hr or 2 hr (one hour is the default), choose who it is for (public for an open event page), and tap Create alarm. See Event alarms.
  4. Add the alarm link, lfg.gm/a/<alarm-code>, to the event description and your last blast.

Your AI agent can also make it: give it the Luma link and say how long before to ring.

Common mistakes

  • Ringing at the same time as Luma's own one-hour reminder. Pick 2 hr, 30 min or At start so the two do not land together.
  • Making it public on a private event. Use a friends alarm with "I approve each one" if only approved guests should ride. See Sharing and reach.
  • Choosing the song after people join. Once a second person rides the alarm, its sound and picture are sealed.
