LFG Alarm is not affiliated with Instinct. This page is about using the two together.
What Instinct does for plans
As of October 2026, Instinct describes itself as "a personal assistant that understands what you're working on and what's important to you", and you use it by text or by phone call. Its privacy policy lists Google Workspace connections such as Gmail and Calendar. It has a "Trusted Person network", where your Instinct coordinates plans with the Instincts of people you trust, and on 5 October 2026 it announced group chats in early access, where a new Instinct joins and works for the whole group, even for friends without an account.
That covers picking the date, the place and who is coming.
What it does not do: ring anyone
A plan in a group chat is still a message. On the day, it is one notification among hundreds, and a reply in a thread does not wake anyone up or get them out the door. That is the gap an alarm fills.
Three plans, from Instinct's chat to everyone's phone
The carpool to the lake. Six friends are driving to a lake house on Saturday. In the group chat, Instinct works out that two cars leave from Maya's at 8:00 and who sits where. Maya then makes one LFG Alarm alarm for 7:15 on Saturday called "Cars leave Maya's at 8" and drops the link in the same chat. Everyone who taps it is riding. At 7:15 six phones ring, and the wake board shows that Theo has not tapped I'm up, so someone calls him at 7:20, not 8:05.
Who brings what. For a potluck on Sunday at 1:00, Instinct keeps the list: Ines brings bread, Kai brings the salad. The list is the plan; the alarm is the moment. A friends alarm at 11:30 called "Potluck 1pm, bring your dish" rings everyone with time to stop at a shop, and the creator's note repeats who brings what.
The trip with a dawn start. Instinct settles a 6:00 hike meeting point. A one-off alarm at 5:15 with a siren and the Drill sergeant voice is the part that gets people out of bed. Snooze is each person's own setting, and the board counts every snooze.
How to use them together
- Let Instinct settle the plan in your group chat: the date, the time, the place.
- Make an LFG Alarm alarm for it. Set it as a heads-up: two hours before a night out, so people start getting ready, or at the start of something online, so everyone hops on at once.
- Drop the alarm link in the same chat,
lfg.gm/a/<alarm-code>. Everyone who taps it and joins is riding the alarm. - When it rings, it rings everyone in the same second, with the song or hype video you picked, and the wake board shows who answered first. A time alarm is a real alarm on both phones: through silent mode and Focus on iPhone, full screen on Android even when the phone is locked.
Instinct can make the alarm itself once LFG Alarm is connected: send it LFG Alarm's docs and MCP server address once, and sign in. See Connect LFG Alarm to Instinct. Claude, ChatGPT, Grok and other AI agents connect the same way; see Using LFG Alarm from your AI agent.
Have your AI agent make it.
Paste this into ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or any AI agent that can add a connector, not into the LFG Alarm app. The setup steps come with it: get the LFG Alarm app, connect it to your agent once, and your agent makes the alarm in your account.
Use LFG Alarm to make a friends alarm for 5:00pm this Saturday called "Dinner at Sol, 7pm", with "DINNER AT 7" drawn on the wallpaper, and give me the link to post in our group chat.
Already have the LFG Alarm app and connected it to your AI agent?
Why it works. Asked of Instinct once LFG Alarm is connected, it turns the plan it just settled into one link the whole chat can join, ringing two hours before the reservation.
