Before you start
- Get the LFG Alarm app on your phone from Google Play or the App Store, and sign in. LibreChat makes the alarms; the app is what rings them.
- A LibreChat with MCP. Adding servers from the interface needs the
CREATEpermission underinterface.mcpServers; otherwise the person who runs the instance adds it tolibrechat.yaml.
Connect it from the interface
- Open the MCP Settings panel in the right sidebar and click +.
- Name it
LFG Alarm, pastehttps://mcp.lfg.gm, choose Streamable HTTP, and choose OAuth for authentication. LFG Alarm registers LibreChat on its own, so there is no client ID or secret. - Click Create. No restart is needed.
- Pick LFG Alarm in the composer's + menu (or click it in the MCP Settings panel). In the Connect prompt, choose Continue with OAuth. A tab opens on lfg.gm: sign in with your LFG Alarm account and tap Allow.
To share it, give the server to the users, groups or roles who should have it. Each of them signs in to their own account.
Or in librechat.yaml
mcpServers:
lfg-alarm:
type: streamable-http
url: https://mcp.lfg.gm
requiresOAuth: true
Restart LibreChat after editing the file. These steps follow LibreChat's own docs; if a label differs, look for MCP servers in the sidebar.
Never one key for everyone
LibreChat can send a fixed header from the server's environment, but an LFG Alarm personal key acts as its owner, so every user would set alarms on one phone. If you need keys instead of sign-in, use LibreChat's per-user option so each person enters their own: in the server's settings choose API Key, tick User provides key, and pick Bearer. Each person makes a key in LFG Alarm under Settings > Connected AI apps > Make a key.
Use it in a chat
LibreChat suits a small team or a family on one server. Maya's two-person studio uses it for everything; "make a friends alarm for Thursday at 9:30 called Client call and add Jun" rings both their phones, after she confirms who it adds. Jun asks for an anything alarm and puts its private link in their uptime checker, so a site outage rings them. See How to make any app, script or feed ring your phone.
Try it
Have your AI agent make it.
Paste this into ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or any AI agent that can add a connector, not into the LFG Alarm app. The setup steps come with it: get the LFG Alarm app, connect it to your agent once, and your agent makes the alarm in your account.
Use LFG Alarm to set a one-off time alarm for 20 minutes from now called "Stand up and stretch". Then tell me the date and time it will ring.
Already have the LFG Alarm app and connected it to your AI agent?
Why it works. A one-off from now and the exact time read back, which shows the server, the sign-in and the model's tool use all work.
More ideas: "Wake me at 7:00 every weekday and call it Get up", or "List my alarms". See Using LFG Alarm from your AI agent.
If it does not work
- It shows OAuth Required. Click the server and use Authenticate, then Continue with OAuth.
- The yaml server is treated as no-auth. Set
requiresOAuth: trueso LibreChat does not guess. - No + in MCP Settings. Your role lacks the create permission; ask whoever runs the instance.
- Still stuck? Write to us from the support page.
