# Connect LFG Alarm to LibreChat

AI agents · https://lfg.gm/agents/librechat · Updated 2026-10-19

To connect LFG Alarm to LibreChat, add `https://mcp.lfg.gm` as a Streamable HTTP MCP server (from the **MCP Settings** panel, or in `librechat.yaml`) and let each person click **Continue with OAuth** to sign in with their own LFG Alarm account. Then anyone on your LibreChat can ask for an alarm, and it rings on their own phone. LFG Alarm is a social alarm clock for iPhone and Android: alarms for times and moments, shared by link so every phone that joined rings together.

## Before you start

- **Get the LFG Alarm app on your phone** from Google Play or the App Store, and sign in. LibreChat makes the alarms; the app is what rings them.
- **A LibreChat with MCP.** Adding servers from the interface needs the `CREATE` permission under `interface.mcpServers`; otherwise the person who runs the instance adds it to `librechat.yaml`.

## Connect it from the interface

1. Open the **MCP Settings** panel in the right sidebar and click **+**.
2. Name it `LFG Alarm`, paste `https://mcp.lfg.gm`, choose **Streamable HTTP**, and choose OAuth for authentication. LFG Alarm registers LibreChat on its own, so there is no client ID or secret.
3. Click **Create**. No restart is needed.
4. Pick LFG Alarm in the composer's **+** menu (or click it in the MCP Settings panel). In the **Connect** prompt, choose **Continue with OAuth**. A tab opens on lfg.gm: sign in with your LFG Alarm account and tap **Allow**.

To share it, give the server to the users, groups or roles who should have it. Each of them signs in to their own account.

## Or in librechat.yaml

```yaml
mcpServers:
  lfg-alarm:
    type: streamable-http
    url: https://mcp.lfg.gm
    requiresOAuth: true
```

Restart LibreChat after editing the file. These steps follow LibreChat's own docs; if a label differs, look for MCP servers in the sidebar.

## Never one key for everyone

LibreChat can send a fixed header from the server's environment, but an LFG Alarm personal key acts as its owner, so every user would set alarms on one phone. If you need keys instead of sign-in, use LibreChat's per-user option so each person enters their own: in the server's settings choose **API Key**, tick **User provides key**, and pick **Bearer**. Each person makes a key in LFG Alarm under **Settings** > **Connected AI apps** > **Make a key**.

## Use it in a chat

LibreChat suits a small team or a family on one server. Maya's two-person studio uses it for everything; "make a friends alarm for Thursday at 9:30 called Client call and add Jun" rings both their phones, after she confirms who it adds. Jun asks for an anything alarm and puts its private link in their uptime checker, so a site outage rings them. See [How to make any app, script or feed ring your phone](https://lfg.gm/webhook-alarm).

## Try it

**Try this.** Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or another AI agent that has the LFG Alarm connector (https://mcp.lfg.gm), not into the LFG Alarm app. The person needs the LFG Alarm app on their phone.

> Use LFG Alarm to set a one-off time alarm for 20 minutes from now called "Stand up and stretch". Then tell me the date and time it will ring.

Why it works: A one-off from now and the exact time read back, which shows the server, the sign-in and the model's tool use all work.

More ideas: "Wake me at 7:00 every weekday and call it Get up", or "List my alarms". See [Using LFG Alarm from your AI agent](https://lfg.gm/wiki/ai-agents).

## If it does not work

- **It shows OAuth Required.** Click the server and use **Authenticate**, then **Continue with OAuth**.
- **The yaml server is treated as no-auth.** Set `requiresOAuth: true` so LibreChat does not guess.
- **No + in MCP Settings.** Your role lacks the create permission; ask whoever runs the instance.
- **Still stuck?** Write to us from the [support page](https://lfg.gm/support).

## Questions

### Can people sign in from another device?
Yes. LibreChat's connect prompt also offers a link to copy and a QR code, so the sign-in can be finished on a phone.

### How does it ring?
A time alarm is a real alarm on iPhone and Android and rings through silent mode. An anything alarm rings full screen on Android; on iPhone it arrives as a time-sensitive alert with the alarm's sound, so keep the ringer on.

### Does LFG Alarm see our chats?
No. LFG Alarm only receives what LibreChat sends when it uses LFG Alarm's tools.

## About LFG Alarm

LFG Alarm is a social alarm clock for iPhone, iPad and Android. It rings for times and for moments (a post on X, a stream going live, a token price, a wallet buying, an event starting), and one shared link makes every phone that joined ring together. Rocco, the cat inside the app, keeps watch and wakes you up.
