Coordinating with your partner, parents or kids: the one alert they cannot miss

Coordinating with a partner, a co-parent, parents or kids means twenty small messages a day, and most of them can wait. A few cannot: leave for the airport, pick up the kids, the call with grandma. LFG Alarm, a social alarm clock for iPhone and Android, makes those few hard to miss: one alarm, shared with the people it is for, rings every one of their phones at the moment it matters. Your AI agent can set it for you in one sentence.

LFG Alarm is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

The one thing out of twenty

Families already run on group chats, shared calendars and, more and more, AI agents that read the calendar and send the reminders. The trouble is volume: when everything is a notification, the one that matters looks like all the others. Swim kit, dentist moved, permission slip, who is doing dinner. Then, buried in it: early pickup today.

For a lot of families the schedule also runs across two homes, with handovers, alternate weekends and a calendar that only one parent saw the update to. (The share of US divorces with shared physical custody rose from about 13% before 1985 to about 34% in 2010 to 2014.) The person who needs to know may not even be in the same chat.

An alarm is different. It rings, its name says what it is, and the people on it chose to join. The habit that works is small: once a day, the parent who knows asks their agent for the one alarm that matters.

Three family days

The morning brief that becomes one alarm. Every morning Sofia asks Claude to look over her calendar and the school emails. It notices that Thursday is a half day. She replies: "Use LFG Alarm to set a one-off alarm for 2:45 today called 'Half day, Leo at the gate 3:05', and add Dev." Dev is in meetings until 4. His phone rings at 2:45 with those words on the screen.

The co-parent handover. Sam and Alex live in different neighbourhoods and swap the kids every other Friday at 5:00. They are not LFG friends and do not need to be. Sam asks ChatGPT for a repeating alarm on Fridays at 4:15 called "Handover 5pm, bag and inhaler", with Alex added by email. On the weeks without a handover, either of them can turn it off for themselves. Small changes ("meet at the library this week") go in the creator's note, which Sam edits in the app; it can change any time, even after Alex joined.

The teenager's evening medicine. A repeating alarm at 8:00 called "Meds, then phone down", ridden by a parent and a 15-year-old. The wake board shows when it was answered, so nobody has to ask.

Moments worth an alarm

  • Leaving the house: "Car leaves in 10" for the school run or the airport.
  • Pickups: the kids, the dog from the vet, a parent from the station.
  • Family calls: a weekly video call with grandparents, across time zones if needed.
  • Medicine and routines: a daily alarm a parent and a teenager both ride.
  • "We're here": an anything alarm on a phone shortcut rings the whole family with one tap. Make that one in the app or on lfg.gm.

Let your agent set it

With the LFG Alarm MCP server connected, ask your AI agent the way you would ask a person. Today it can set, list, change and delete time alarms, add your LFG friends by username and anyone by email, draw words on the wallpaper, and give you a one-time link to add your own photo or recorded voice. It cannot add a creator's note yet; add that in the app. See Using LFG Alarm from your AI agent.

try this

Have your AI agent make it.

Paste this into ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or any AI agent that can add a connector, not into the LFG Alarm app. The setup steps come with it: get the LFG Alarm app, connect it to your agent once, and your agent makes the alarm in your account.

Use LFG Alarm to set a friends alarm for 4:15pm every Friday called "Handover 5pm, bag and inhaler", with "HANDOVER" drawn on the wallpaper, and add [your co-parent's email or LFG Alarm username]. Then tell me who is on it.

Already have the LFG Alarm app and connected it to your AI agent?

Why it works. A repeating alarm whose name says what to bring means nobody has to remember, and the agent tells you who is on it, so you know the right person was added.

Why it works for families

  • It rings, even when chats are muted. Time alarms are real alarms on both phones: through silent mode and Focus on iPhone, full screen on Android even when the phone is locked.
  • The ring screen says what to do, in the alarm's name and wallpaper.
  • Everyone taps I'm up, so you know who saw it.
  • One alarm can ring two homes. Each person joins once, wherever they live.

Common mistakes

  • Turning every reminder into an alarm. Keep alarms for the one or two things a day that would actually hurt to miss.
  • Ringing at the deadline. Ring at 2:45 for a 3:05 pickup.
  • Asking the agent for a note. It cannot set one yet. Put the key fact in the name, and the rest in the note in the app.
