Before you start
- Get the LFG Alarm app on your phone from the App Store or Google Play, and sign in. Shortcuts sends the request; the app is what rings.
- The Shortcuts app on iPhone, iPad or Mac.
- For the second way only, a personal key. Make one below.
Way 1: ring an alarm now (no key)
This is a big red button for your people: "come down, dinner's ready", "I'm outside", "everyone on the call".
- In LFG Alarm, make an Anything alarm, share it with the people who should hear it, and copy its private link.
- In Shortcuts, tap + to make a new shortcut and add the action Get Contents of URL.
- Paste the alarm's link as the URL. Tap Show More and set Method to POST. Leave the body empty.
- Name the shortcut for what it means, for example "Dinner's ready". Siri runs it by that name.
- Run it once to test: the alarm rings on every phone that joined.
Add it to your Home Screen, a widget, the Action button or a Back Tap, and it is one press. An Automation can run it for you too, for example when you arrive at an address or at a time each day. Keep the link private: anyone who has it can ring the alarm. If it leaks, replace it from the alarm's page. After a ring the alarm stays quiet for the time you chose when you made it (from 1 minute to 1 hour), so pressing twice does not ring twice.
Way 2: set alarms with a key
A shortcut can also ask LFG Alarm to set an alarm, so a sentence to Siri becomes a real alarm on your phone, or on your friends' phones.
Make a key. In LFG Alarm, open Settings > Connected AI apps, tap Make a key, name it "Shortcuts", and copy the key (it is shown once). Keys start with lfg_pat_.
Build the shortcut.
- Add Get Contents of URL. URL:
https://mcp.lfg.gm. Method: POST. - Headers:
Authorization=Bearer lfg_pat_...(your key),Content-Type=application/json,Accept=application/json, text/event-stream. - Request Body: JSON, with these fields:
jsonrpc=2.0,id=1,method=tools/call, andparamsas a dictionary:name=set_time_alarm,arguments= a dictionary withtime(24-hour,06:00),time_zone(yours, likeAmerica/New_York),date(2026-11-02, for a one-off) andtitle(Run). - LFG Alarm answers in a second or two. Its reply has the alarm's link and a short summary as text, plus the share picture; add Get Dictionary Value for
result>contentand Show Result on the first text item to see what it set. - To make it spoken, put Ask for Input or Dictate Text before it and feed the answer into
titleortime. To wake a group at a moment that changes, make a friends alarm once in the app and ring it with Way 1.
A key acts as you, so this shortcut sets alarms on your account whoever runs it. Do not share a shortcut that has your key inside it; share Way 1 shortcuts instead, which hold only an alarm's link.
Try it
Have your AI agent make it.
Paste this into ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or any AI agent that can add a connector, not into the LFG Alarm app. The setup steps come with it: get the LFG Alarm app, connect it to your agent once, and your agent makes the alarm in your account.
Use LFG Alarm to set a one-off time alarm for 6:00 tomorrow called "Run". Then tell me the date and time it will ring.
Already have the LFG Alarm app and connected it to your AI agent?
Why it works. In an AI app connected to LFG Alarm this is one sentence. In Shortcuts, Way 2 sends the same request as set_time_alarm with time 06:00, tomorrow's date and the title Run.
