# LFG Alarm with Apple Shortcuts and Siri

AI agents · https://lfg.gm/agents/apple-shortcuts · Updated 2026-10-19

To use LFG Alarm from Apple Shortcuts, the simplest way is a shortcut with one **Get Contents of URL** action that sends a POST to an anything alarm's private link: run it, tap it on your Home Screen or say its name to Siri, and that alarm rings on every phone that joined it. To have a shortcut *set* alarms ("Hey Siri, wake my running group at 6"), give it a personal LFG Alarm key and let it call the LFG Alarm MCP server at https://mcp.lfg.gm. LFG Alarm is a social alarm clock for iPhone and Android: alarms for times and moments, shared by link so every phone that joined rings together.

## Before you start

- **Get the LFG Alarm app on your phone** from the App Store or Google Play, and sign in. Shortcuts sends the request; the app is what rings.
- **The Shortcuts app** on iPhone, iPad or Mac.
- For the second way only, **a personal key**. Make one below.

## Way 1: ring an alarm now (no key)

This is a big red button for your people: "come down, dinner's ready", "I'm outside", "everyone on the call".

1. In LFG Alarm, make an **Anything** alarm, share it with the people who should hear it, and copy its private link.
2. In **Shortcuts**, tap **+** to make a new shortcut and add the action **Get Contents of URL**.
3. Paste the alarm's link as the URL. Tap **Show More** and set **Method** to **POST**. Leave the body empty.
4. Name the shortcut for what it means, for example "Dinner's ready". Siri runs it by that name.
5. Run it once to test: the alarm rings on every phone that joined.

Add it to your Home Screen, a widget, the Action button or a Back Tap, and it is one press. An Automation can run it for you too, for example when you arrive at an address or at a time each day. Keep the link private: anyone who has it can ring the alarm. If it leaks, replace it from the alarm's page. After a ring the alarm stays quiet for the time you chose when you made it (from 1 minute to 1 hour), so pressing twice does not ring twice.

## Way 2: set alarms with a key

A shortcut can also ask LFG Alarm to set an alarm, so a sentence to Siri becomes a real alarm on your phone, or on your friends' phones.

**Make a key.** In LFG Alarm, open **Settings** > **Connected AI apps**, tap **Make a key**, name it "Shortcuts", and copy the key (it is shown once). Keys start with `lfg_pat_`.

**Build the shortcut.**

1. Add **Get Contents of URL**. **URL:** `https://mcp.lfg.gm`. **Method:** **POST**.
2. **Headers:** `Authorization` = `Bearer lfg_pat_...` (your key), `Content-Type` = `application/json`, `Accept` = `application/json, text/event-stream`.
3. **Request Body:** **JSON**, with these fields: `jsonrpc` = `2.0`, `id` = `1`, `method` = `tools/call`, and `params` as a dictionary: `name` = `set_time_alarm`, `arguments` = a dictionary with `time` (24-hour, `06:00`), `time_zone` (yours, like `America/New_York`), `date` (`2026-11-02`, for a one-off) and `title` (`Run`).
4. LFG Alarm answers in a second or two. Its reply has the alarm's link and a short summary as text, plus the share picture; add **Get Dictionary Value** for `result` > `content` and **Show Result** on the first text item to see what it set.
5. To make it spoken, put **Ask for Input** or **Dictate Text** before it and feed the answer into `title` or `time`. To wake a group at a moment that changes, make a friends alarm once in the app and ring it with Way 1.

A key acts as you, so this shortcut sets alarms on your account whoever runs it. Do not share a shortcut that has your key inside it; share Way 1 shortcuts instead, which hold only an alarm's link.

## Try it

**Try this.** Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or another AI agent that has the LFG Alarm connector (https://mcp.lfg.gm), not into the LFG Alarm app. The person needs the LFG Alarm app on their phone.

> Use LFG Alarm to set a one-off time alarm for 6:00 tomorrow called "Run". Then tell me the date and time it will ring.

Why it works: In an AI app connected to LFG Alarm this is one sentence. In Shortcuts, Way 2 sends the same request as set_time_alarm with time 06:00, tomorrow's date and the title Run.

## Questions

### Can Siri set an LFG Alarm without a shortcut?
Not directly. A shortcut is how Siri reaches LFG Alarm: name the shortcut and Siri runs it.

### Does the alarm ring through silent mode?
A time alarm made with Way 2 rings like any alarm clock, through silent mode and Focus on iPhone. An anything alarm (Way 1) arrives on iPhone as a time-sensitive alert with the alarm's sound, so the ringer should be on; on Android it rings full screen.

### Is Way 1 safe to share with my family?
Yes. A Way 1 shortcut holds only the alarm's link, so it can ring that one alarm and nothing else. Share the shortcut with the people who should be able to ring it.

## About LFG Alarm

LFG Alarm is a social alarm clock for iPhone, iPad and Android. It rings for times and for moments (a post on X, a stream going live, a token price, a wallet buying, an event starting), and one shared link makes every phone that joined ring together. Rocco, the cat inside the app, keeps watch and wakes you up.
