# How to make one alarm ring the whole group chat Friends and groups · https://lfg.gm/group-alarm-for-roommates Telling a group chat to set their alarms rarely works: someone always sleeps through the 8am. LFG Alarm is a social alarm clock for iPhone and Android that lets one roommate make an alarm and share it as a link. Everyone who joins gets the same alarm on their own phone, ringing in the same second, and Rocco shows the chat who got up and who slept in. ## How it works 1. **Make the alarm once.** Tap Time, set it, pick a sound or a voice, and turn on Make it social: friends you pick, or anyone with the link. For the same four people every week, make a group in Settings > Friends > Groups and tap Create alarm with this group. 2. **Post the link in the chat.** Everyone who taps `lfg.gm/a/` and joins is riding the same alarm, on iPhone or Android. Joining is free. 3. **Every phone rings in the same second.** It is a real alarm on both: full screen on Android, Apple's own alarm on iPhone, through silent mode and Focus. Each person taps I'm up, and Rocco keeps a wake board of who got up first, who snoozed most and who slept in, ready to share back in the chat as a picture. ## What suites use it for - The 8am midterm everyone swore they would make. - A one-off 4:15am alarm for the airport ride on the first day of break, with a creator's note that says "car is outside at 4:40, bags by the door". - A repeating Sunday 11am for the cleaning rota, so the wake board settles who was up and who was "basically up". ## What it looks like The page tells the story as a group chat. At 11:58 pm: "midterm tmrw 8am", and "everyone set ur alarms" gets three hearts. At 7:48 am, Marcus's door is closed and his phone is on do not disturb; at 8:21 he writes "y'all should've woke me up". The next time, one roommate makes the alarm, drops the link, all four join, four phones ring in the same second, and the wake board shows Marcus made it, barely. Pick the Toxic coach voice for it in the app. ## Common mistakes - Saying "everyone set an alarm" instead of sharing one. Twelve people setting their own is how one of them forgets. - Posting the link once at midnight. Pin it, or post it again before bed. - Picking the gentlest sound for a group.
