# How creators can catch a trend before it peaks

Fans and creators · https://lfg.gm/creator-trend-alarms · Updated 2026-10-16

A creator trend alarm rings your phone when one of the sources you trust for trends moves: an account on X posting about a new challenge, sound or format, a YouTube channel uploading or going live, a Twitch streamer going live, or a feed you connect through a webhook. LFG Alarm is a social alarm clock for iPhone and Android, and lfg.gm in a desktop browser. Rocco, its orange tabby cat, watches the accounts and channels you pick and rings you, and your editor or co-host if you share the alarm, so you hear early enough to make something while the trend is still rising.

## The problem: trends reward the first day

A reaction, a stitch, a duet or a take on a new format does best when the trend is a few hours old, not a few days. Creators know where trends start in their niche: a handful of accounts, a couple of big channels, one or two newsletters. The trouble is watching them. Notifications from X and YouTube are one buzz among dozens, timelines bury the post you needed, and nobody can refresh five profiles all day and also edit.

LFG Alarm does not find trends for you. Rocco watches the sources you already trust and rings when they move in the way you described.

## Three creators, three alarms

**The format scout.** Aisha makes short comedy videos. Most new formats in her niche show up first on three X accounts. She makes a post alarm for each with the rule "posts about a new challenge, sound or meme format". Rocco reads each new post and rings only for the ones that mean that, so the other forty posts a day stay quiet. When one rings at 10:40 on a Saturday, she has her version filmed by lunch.

**The reaction channel.** Jay runs a reaction channel built around one big creator's uploads. He sets a YouTube alarm on that channel for **When they post a video**, shares it with his editor, and both phones ring when the video drops. Jay records his reaction while his editor clears the afternoon.

**The co-host.** Two friends co-host a weekly Twitch show, but one of them often goes live early to chat. The other sets a Twitch alarm on that channel for **When they go live**, so she can join from the first minute instead of finding out from a clip.

## Watch the people who start trends

Make a post alarm for each account and describe what you are waiting for in plain words. Good rules describe meaning, not a keyword:

| Instead of | Write |
|---|---|
| "challenge" | "posts about a new challenge people are copying" |
| "sound" | "mentions a new sound or song taking off" |
| "collab" | "announces a collab with another creator" |

Keep one idea per alarm, and make a second alarm for a second idea. See [an alarm for when someone posts](https://lfg.gm/alarm-when-someone-posts) and [post alarms](https://lfg.gm/wiki/post-alarms).

## Know when a channel moves

- **YouTube:** ring when a channel posts a new video or goes live.
- **Twitch:** ring when a streamer goes live.

## Connect any trend feed

If a tool or feed you already use can send a web request, it can ring you. With an [anything alarm](https://lfg.gm/webhook-alarm) and Zapier, Make or IFTTT, you can connect:

- an RSS feed of a news site or a blog in your niche;
- a keyword alert or trends tool that can send notifications to a webhook;
- your own script watching an API.

## How it rings

Post alarms and anything alarms ring full screen on Android, even on Do Not Disturb. On iPhone they arrive as a time-sensitive alert with the alarm's own sound, which can come through Focus but respects the silent switch, so keep the ringer on. With an lfg.gm tab open on an awake laptop, they ring there too.

## Make a post alarm in the app

1. On **Alarms**, tap **👀 Social**.
2. Pick **X**, **Twitch** or **YouTube** and type the username, channel or handle, or paste a link. Tap **Next**.
3. On X, write what should wake you under **What should wake you?**. On Twitch or YouTube, tap **When they go live** or **When they post a video**.
4. Rocco reads it back as one sentence. Choose who it is for, then tap **That's it**.

Your AI agent can set a post alarm too: name the account and describe the post in your own words.

## Share it with your team

An editor, a co-host or a manager can ride the same alarm, so everyone hears at the same moment. Riding someone else's alarm is free. You can also add a creator's note to the alarm, such as "film first, caption later", which riders see on the alarm and the drop, though never on the ring screen.

## A time alarm for your posting window

Some of the work is not a surprise at all: you know when your audience is most active. Your AI agent can set time alarms for that today.

**Try this.** Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or another AI agent that has the LFG Alarm connector (https://mcp.lfg.gm), not into the LFG Alarm app. The person needs the LFG Alarm app on their phone.

> Use LFG Alarm to set an alarm called "Post window" for 16:30 every weekday, make it a friends alarm, and add my editor [username]. Then tell me when it goes off next.

Why it works: A fixed daily window is a time alarm, which your AI agent can make today, and your editor rides it with you.

## Questions

### Does LFG Alarm find trends by itself?
No. Rocco watches the accounts, channels and feeds you choose and rings you when they move.

### Do I need an X account?
No. Watching an account on X needs only its handle.

### Will it spam me?
Post alarms on X only ring for posts that mean what you wrote, and anything alarms have a cooldown you set.

### Can I ride someone else's trend alarm?
Yes, if they share it with you or make it public. Riding is free.

## About LFG Alarm

LFG Alarm is a social alarm clock for iPhone, iPad and Android. It rings for times and for moments (a post on X, a stream going live, a token price, a wallet buying, an event starting), and one shared link makes every phone that joined ring together. Rocco, the cat inside the app, does the watching and the waking.
