# Best social alarm clock apps in 2026: which ones let friends share an alarm

Comparisons · https://lfg.gm/best-social-alarm-clock · Updated 2026-10-17

The best social alarm clock apps in 2026 are the few that really let friends share an alarm: Galarm for shared reminders with a chat, Ringlink for one alarm across time zones, a handful of new iPhone apps where friends set or watch your alarm, and LFG Alarm, a social alarm clock for iPhone and Android where one link makes every phone that joined ring together, for a time or for a moment, with a wake board of who got up first. Most "best alarm" lists are full of solo apps; this one only counts apps where another person is part of the alarm. We make LFG Alarm, so we say plainly what it does not do.

Checked against each app's own store page or website on 17 October 2026. Store listings change often, so treat ratings and prices as a snapshot.

## What counts as a social alarm clock

An alarm app is social when another person is part of it. That can mean three different things, and the apps below each pick one or two:

- **A shared alarm:** one person makes it, others join, and it rings on everyone's phone. This is what most people mean by "group alarm clock" or "shared alarm app".
- **Setting an alarm for someone else:** you put an alarm on a friend's phone, with their permission.
- **Being watched:** friends see whether you got up, snoozed or slept in.

A mission alarm such as Alarmy is not social by this test. It is excellent at getting one person out of bed, but nobody else is involved. The built-in Apple Clock and Google Clock cannot send an alarm to anyone either.

## The comparison

| App | Phones | Shared alarm that rings everyone | Friends see if you got up | Set an alarm on a friend's phone | Rings for moments, not just times |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| LFG Alarm | iPhone, Android, lfg.gm in a desktop browser | Yes, by link or by adding friends and groups | Yes, the wake board | No, people join themselves | Yes: posts, streams, prices, trades, events, webhooks |
| Galarm | iPhone, Android, Galarm Web | Yes, group alarms | Participants confirm or decline; buddy alarms tell you if someone missed theirs | Yes, buddy alarms | Only monitoring tools on its business plans |
| Ringlink | iPhone and iPad (iOS 26) | Yes, each person at their own local time | Yes, who is awake and who is asleep, with day by day stats and streaks | No | Not in its listing |
| Snooze Squad | iPhone (iOS 26) | No | Friends are told each time you hit snooze | Friends choose your alarm sound and record a voice message for it | No |
| WakeMate | iPhone (iOS 26) | No | Not in its listing | Yes, with per-friend permission | No |
| PingPal | iPhone, iPad | No | Yes, the friend sends proof: a selfie, a pose or a dance video | Yes | No |
| Alarmy (for contrast) | iPhone, Android | No | No | No | No |

## Galarm: shared reminders for families and teams

Galarm is the established name here, with a 4.7 rating from about 4.5K ratings on the App Store. Its group alarms ring on everyone's phone at the same time, and participants can confirm or decline and chat on the alarm. Buddy alarms let you set an alarm for someone else and get told if they miss it or mark it done. There is a web app, Galarm Web, and Premium is $0.99 a month, $9.99 a year or $24.99 for life, with a 14-day free trial. Its professional plans add on-call schedules and alerts from monitoring tools.

**Best for:** a family or a small team that wants shared reminders at set times, with a chat to sort the details. See [LFG Alarm vs Galarm](https://lfg.gm/lfg-alarm-vs-galarm).

## Ringlink: one alarm across time zones

Ringlink is a new iPhone app built around one idea: a shared alarm, called a Ring, that each invitee gets in their own time zone. The listing pitches it for couples, families, study partners and remote teams, and shows who is awake and who is still asleep, with stats and streaks for the group. It needs iOS 26 and had a single rating on 17 October 2026, so it is early. Free, with a Pro subscription.

**Best for:** a long-distance couple or a remote team, all on iPhone.

## Snooze Squad, WakeMate and PingPal: friends on your alarm

Three new iPhone apps put a friend on your alarm rather than sharing one alarm between you:

- **Snooze Squad** lets friends choose your alarm sound, record a voice message for it and get a notification every time you hit snooze. Free, iPhone only.
- **WakeMate** lets you set alarms on friends' and family's phones, with a message and a repeat, and each friend controls who may set their alarms. Free with one friend; paid tiers add more.
- **PingPal** sends an alarm to a friend with your music, photo or voice, plus a mission they must complete as proof they are up: a morning selfie, a pose or a dance video. Free, with a weekly or yearly Premium.

All three had only a handful of ratings on 17 October 2026. They are worth a look if the thing you want is a friend nudging you, and you are all on iPhone.

## LFG Alarm: one link, everyone rings, and a board of who got up

LFG Alarm is free to download on iPhone and Android, and riding someone's alarm is free. You make an alarm, pick who it is for, and send the link, `lfg.gm/a/<alarm-code>`. Everyone who joins gets the same alarm on their own phone, with the same sound and wallpaper. Or skip the link: save your people as a group in **Settings** > **Friends** > **Groups** and tap **Create alarm with this group**. See [Friends and groups](https://lfg.gm/wiki/friends-and-groups).

What sets it apart:

- **A wake board.** After a shared alarm rings, everyone sees a podium of who got up first, who snoozed first, who snoozed most and who slept in, with medals like **Snooze champ** and **Buys coffee** for the last one up. See [The wake board](https://lfg.gm/wiki/wake-board).
- **Same moment or each person's own time.** A shared time alarm rings everyone in the same second by default. Pick **Everyone's local time zone** and each person wakes at their own 6:00, with the board open for a full day. See [Time alarms](https://lfg.gm/wiki/time-alarms).
- **Moments, not only times.** Rocco, the cat inside the app, can watch for a post on X, a Twitch or YouTube stream going live, a token price, a big wallet or trader trade, an event from a Luma or Partiful link, or a webhook, and ring the whole group when it happens.
- **Real alarms.** Time and event alarms are real alarms on both phones: on iPhone they use Apple's own alarm system and ring through silent mode and Focus; on Android they take over the screen. Post, price, wallet, trader and webhook alarms ring full screen on Android, even on Do Not Disturb; on iPhone they arrive as a time-sensitive alert with the alarm's own sound, which respects the silent switch, so keep the ringer on.
- **A note and a link.** Every alarm can carry a creator's note (where to meet, what to bring) and a link that opens when people answer.
- **Public alarms.** A creator or a community can post one link that anyone can ride, and it can appear in [Discover](https://lfg.gm/wiki/discover).

## What LFG Alarm does not do

- **No proof missions.** There is no selfie, puzzle or squat to turn it off. You tap **I'm up**, and the board records how fast.
- **No mode that forbids snoozing.** You choose how many snoozes you get: 3, 10 or forever. See [the accountability alarm](https://lfg.gm/accountability-alarm-app).
- **It cannot put an alarm on someone's phone without them.** People join the link or accept an alarm you added them to. Nobody is rung who did not choose it.
- **No chat thread per alarm.** Friends and public alarms have comments and hearts, and the board has Reactions, but it is not a group chat.
- **No sleep tracking.**
- **Everyone needs the app to be rung.** A laptop rings only while an lfg.gm tab is open and the laptop is awake and online, and phone browsers never ring.

## Which one should you get?

- **A family or a work team with set-time reminders and a chat:** Galarm.
- **All on iPhone, across time zones, and you want streaks:** Ringlink, or LFG Alarm with **Everyone's local time zone**.
- **You want a friend to set or watch your alarm, and you are both on iPhone:** Snooze Squad, WakeMate or PingPal.
- **A mixed iPhone and Android group, a wake board, or alarms for moments like a post, a stream or an event:** LFG Alarm.

## Why doing it with friends helps

The evidence for "with friends" is better than you might expect. In a randomised trial of 166 adults in a weight-loss programme, 95% of those who joined with friends and had social-support training finished treatment, against 76% of those who joined alone. Getting up is a simple task, and a meta-analysis of 241 studies found other people's presence slightly improves performance on simple tasks. More in [the accountability alarm](https://lfg.gm/accountability-alarm-app).

**Try this.** Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or another AI agent that has the LFG Alarm connector (https://mcp.lfg.gm), not into the LFG Alarm app. The person needs the LFG Alarm app on their phone.

> Use LFG Alarm to set a repeating alarm for 7:00 on weekdays called "Up together", make it a friends alarm, add my friends [username] and [username], and give me the link to send to everyone else.

Why it works: One sentence covers the time, the repeat, who it is for and the link, which is everything a shared alarm needs.

## Questions

### What is the best group alarm clock app?
For a group on both iPhone and Android, Galarm and LFG Alarm both ring everyone on a shared alarm. Galarm adds a chat on each alarm; LFG Alarm adds a wake board and alarms for moments like a post or an event.

Not with Apple Clock. You need an app: Galarm, Ringlink or LFG Alarm on iPhone all share alarms, and Galarm and LFG Alarm also work on Android.

Yes. LFG Alarm's wake board shows who got up first, who snoozed and who slept in. Ringlink shows who is awake, Snooze Squad tells friends when you snooze, and PingPal asks for a selfie or video as proof.
